Pastor Susan Gary said “It never ceases to amaze me to watch the Holy Spirit work. Every time we need a position filled God provides just the right person and God has done it again! We are blessed beyond measure to have Karen Simmons join our Open Arms Village team. Karen is a certified mental health counselor who also works at the Phoenix House. She is a woman of deep faith and the guys already love working with her! Thanks be to God! Welcome aboard, Karen!”
A little bit about Karen:
My name is Karen Elaine Simmons. I am 45 years old, and the mother of two wonderful children. I am a survivor of numerous life struggles, including, but not limited to abuse. I completed my Associate of Science in Biomedical Engineering Technology (2003), my Associate of Arts in Psychology (2004), my Bachelors of Art in Psychology (2008) and my Masters of Art in Mental Health Counseling (2014). I have worked as a clinical counselor for three years at the Phoenix House, which is a residential substance abuse treatment facility.
